Program controller for model years and financial controller VCC plant Cost In this role, you will support the development and financial steering of vehicle programs throughout key program milestones. As the financial controller for a model year program, you will work closely with Program Management and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure financial transparency, support decision-making, and drive efficient program execution. The role is focused on both program investments and vehicle profitability across the full product lifecycle. You will collaborate with several functions across Polestar, including Program Office, Research & Development, Manufacturing, Design, Procurement, Business Office, Volume Planning, and Finance. The position also requires close cooperation with Geely and program counterparts responsible for providing development cost quotations and investment estimates. You will be actively involved in all financial planning processes, including Forecasts, Budget, and Business Planning (BPL), covering both investment spend and vehicle profitability for your assigned carline. In addition to program controlling responsibilities, the role includes financial controlling activities related to Volvo Cars Manufacturing (VCC) plants, providing a unique opportunity to work across both program and product cost controlling disciplines. Key Responsibilities Drive and communicate the financial progression of model year programs against established targets and milestones. Serve as a key financial partner to program management by providing quality-assured financial data and supporting decision-making throughout the program lifecycle. Act as the primary contact for program-related financial matters, both within Finance and towards operational stakeholders. Secure, analyse, and deliver investment, cost, and profitability data for program milestones, including clear explanations of variances and underlying business drivers. Support decisions related to capital expenditure (CAPEX), profitability, and short- and long-term financial plans through timely analyses, investigations, and business cases. Collaborate across multiple functions to ensure accurate and consistent financial input into vehicle program planning and reporting. Lead financial controlling activities for VCC manufacturing plants, ensuring that reporting, analyses, and financial performance assessments are robust and aligned with business realities. Perform financial analyses of transfer prices from manufacturing plants in close collaboration with Polestar and Geely transfer pricing controllers. Drive and support business case development and investigations related to manufacturing operations, including Bill of Material (BOM) development, cost improvement initiatives, and cost reduction tracking. You should thrive in a cross-functional and international environment, balancing strategic financial planning with operational business support Competence requirements 3-10 years’ experience in financial controlling or analyst roles Outstanding analytical capabilities Very strong in excel/data handling Experience in controlling – e.g. setting and following up targets Strong project management skills – being the link and center for inputs from numerous internal stakeholders Understanding potential cost and revenue drivers within automotive Other requirements Self-motivated, driven, and a proactive attitude towards solving issues and suggesting improvements.
