Project Controller

We at WeQuel are now looking for a Project Controller in Södertälje, where you will become a key part of a department managing a diverse portfolio of product development projects and customer-related business projects, with a focus on financial control, transparency and informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. Acting as a finance business partner and trusted advisor to project managers and management teams, you will help drive profitability, resource efficiency and successful project execution. The portfolio ranges from product and service development initiatives to complex customer projects, and the role means balancing technical, commercial and financial perspectives. It is also an excellent opportunity to gain a broad understanding of project-driven business operations and to work closely with stakeholders across engineering, sales, purchasing, production and finance. There you will help optimise processes, strengthen financial control and support sustainable, profitable project execution. Your responsibilities: Financial planning, forecasting and follow-up for a portfolio of product development and customer projects Monitoring of project performance Identifying risks and opportunities, and proactively supporting corrective actions Analysing project profitability, business cases and investment proposals throughout the project lifecycle Financial insights and performance analyses for project managers and department leadership Developing and maintaining project financial reporting, covering budget tracking, resource utilisation and cost development Preparing decision material and presentations for management teams and governance forums Keeping finances transparent and supporting fact-based decisions on project priorities and investments Ad hoc analyses of project performance, portfolio management and business development initiatives Continuous improvement of project controlling processes, tools and reporting methods You will work in a dynamic, project-oriented environment where success depends on close collaboration with stakeholders across several functions. You will also need to explain financial information in a clear, business-oriented way. Requirements: Experience in controlling, financial analysis, project controlling, business controlling or project management support Experience with budgets, forecasts, business cases and financial reporting Experience from product development, industrial operations, manufacturing or customer project environments is highly valued University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Industrial Economics, Engineering or a related field Professional proficiency in English; knowledge of Swedish is an advantage Strong analytical skills and an understanding of technical, commercial and financial drivers Excellent communication and presentation skills, including explaining financial matters to non-financial stakeholders Collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong relationships across functions and organisational levels Proactive and analytical, and you enjoy working in project-oriented environments Able to turn complex information into actionable insights A solid financial foundation with a real interest in business operations and project management Comfortable challenging assumptions and asking the right questions Able to support decision-makers with strategic perspectives and attention to detail Assignment details Start date: By agreement End date: By agreement Location: Södertälje Workload: 100% Remote: Up to 40% (minimum 3 days per week on site) We offer At WeQuel, you become part of a consulting team that values people first.
