Project Manager to the Center for Security and Resilience at SSE
The Center for Security and Resilience is seeking a motivated and organized Project Manager who can take ownership of projects from initial concept and planning through implementation, evaluation, and continued development. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders and combining strategic development with hands-on execution.
A key part of the role involves planning and delivering both academic and practitioner-focused events, as well as recruiting and engaging students and hourly employees for various projects and assignments.

About the Role
As Project Manager, you will have broad responsibility for planning, coordinating, and delivering activities at the Center for Security and Resilience. You will oversee projects as a whole, create structure, and ensure that objectives are achieved on time and within budget.
You will work closely with students, partner organizations, and other relevant stakeholders. The role includes both independent work and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. You will report to the Executive Director of the Center for Security and Resilience.
Your primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Managing projects from start to finish, from needs assessment and project planning through implementation, monitoring, and evaluation
Planning and delivering seminars, conferences, workshops, networking events, and other activities
Recruiting, onboarding, and coordinating research assistants for various projects and assignments
Developing clear processes for recruitment, staffing, onboarding, and event management
Creating project timelines, assigning responsibilities, preparing budgets, and establishing monitoring procedures
Coordinating participants, speakers, vendors, and partner organizations
Preparing information, instructions, and other materials for projects and activities
Ensuring a professional participant experience before, during, and after each event or activity
Reviewing existing processes, documenting outcomes, and developing improved ways of working based on feedback
Contributing to the development of the Center’s operations, procedures, and long-term partnerships
Your profile
We are looking for someone who is proactive, solutions-oriented, and skilled at bringing structure to projects with many moving parts. You take ownership of your work and can shift between long-term planning and hands-on tasks as needed. You are organized and structured in your work, while remaining flexible, service-oriented and confident in leading, coordinating, and supporting others to achieve shared goals.
To succeed in this role, you should be a clear, confident, and engaging communicator who can build trust, align stakeholders, and translate complex information into practical guidance for different audiences.
Requirements:
A relevant academic degree or equivalent professional experience
Experience independently planning, managing, and completing projects
Experience organizing events, large-scale programs, or similar activities
Experience recruiting, staffing, or coordinating employees, students, or volunteers
Strong administrative skills and ability to create structure, manage details, and keep projects organized and on track
Experience developing and quality-assuring procedures, instructions, and work processes
Swedish and English
Meritorious:
Experience working with student programs, professional development, training initiatives, digital learning platforms, or topics related to security, emergency preparedness, and resilience is a plus

Other:
This is a full-time, permanent position with an initial six-month probationary period. The position is located in Stockholm and start date according to agreement.
