SAP S/4HANA Product Owner Finance & Order to Cash

Assignment Description We are looking for an experienced SAP S/4 Product Owner to temporarily replace a key team member. The consultant will be responsible for managing and developing ERP products and business processes within a modern SAP S/4 environment, ensuring alignment between business needs, IT solutions, and the organization's Clean Core strategy. The role combines product ownership with hands-on execution. The consultant is expected to drive business process improvements, design and implement new SAP functionality, and support business-critical operations across Finance and Sales processes. A key aspect of the assignment is ensuring that new solutions and enhancements follow SAP S/4 best practices and Clean Core principles, minimizing customizations and maximizing the use of standard SAP capabilities whenever possible. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to deliver scalable, maintainable, and future-proof solutions. The role also includes participation in incident analysis and resolution, requiring a strong understanding of both business processes and SAP system functionality. Key Responsibilities • Own and manage the Product roadmap and backlog. • Gather, analyze, and prioritize business requirements. • Act as the link between business stakeholders and IT teams. • Design, configure, and implement new ERP functionality. • Drive process improvements and system enhancements. • Participate in testing, releases, and deployment activities. • Support incident investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution. • Collaborate with external vendors, consultants, and project teams. • Ensure solutions align with architecture, governance, and business objectives. Mandatory Requirements • Minimum 5 years of experience working with SAP systems in a Product Manager, Product Owner, Functional Consultant, Solution Analyst, or similar role. • Strong hands-on experience with SAP FICO (Finance & Controlling) and SAP SD (Sales & Distribution). • Experience participating in incident investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution in a business-critical ERP environment. • Strong stakeholder management skills across both business and IT organizations. • Experience gathering and translating business requirements into functional and technical solutions. • Ability to independently drive requirements from idea through implementation and production support. • Experience working in agile and/or hybrid delivery environments. • Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes such as Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Warehouse Management, and/or Finance. • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Preferred Qualifications • Experience implementing new ERP capabilities and process automation initiatives. • Experience supporting business-critical environments with high availability requirements. • Experience leading ERP transformation, upgrade, or migration initiatives. • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, Scrum, SAFe, or similar frameworks. • Experience working with global organizations and distributed teams. • Experience collaborating with external vendors, system integrators, and support providers.
