Position Summary: Our established consumer packaged goods company is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to own core accounting operations across the full manufacturing-to-shelf cycle. In this role, you will help manage the month-end close, safeguard the integrity of the general ledger, and deliver accurate financial reporting that informs decisions across sales, supply chain, and operations. The ideal candidate pairs strong technical accounting expertise with hands-on experience in inventory, cost accounting, and trade spend analysis. This position is based in our Philadelphia office four days per week to support close collaboration with cross-functional partners, with one remote day each week. Key Responsibilities: • Month-End Close: Support assigned areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close — including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations — helping ensure an accurate, timely close within established deadlines. • Inventory & Cost Accounting: Assist the Finance team with standard costing, help analyze purchase price and manufacturing variances, and reconcile inventory across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods; participate in cycle counts and physical inventories alongside operations. • Cost of Sales: Partner with plant controllers to help track, analyze, and report cost of sales, assist in investigating margin fluctuations, and prepare variance commentary for review by senior finance staff. • Trade Spend & Deductions: Help account for trade promotions, customer deductions, and chargebacks; assist with reconciling trade accruals and supporting gross-to-net revenue analysis. • General Ledger: Maintain assigned GL accounts, prepare reconciliations for review, research discrepancies, escalating issues as needed. • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements and internal management reports in accordance with IFRS and guidance provided by Group controllership, support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. • Audit & Controls: Support external audit requests, maintain strong internal controls, help document and improve accounting processes and policies. • Compliance: Assist with sales/use tax, excise, and other regulatory filings relevant to manufactured consumer goods. • Process Improvement: Identify and implement automation and efficiency opportunities within the ERP and close process. Minimum Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. •3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle month-end close ownership. •Demonstrate working knowledge of IFRS and its application •Direct experience with inventory and cost accounting, ideally in manufacturing, CPG, food & beverage, or a related product-based industry. •Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large-dataset analysis). •Experience with a major ERP system (e.g., JD Edwards, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics). •Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to partner across departments.
