Senior App Developer Location: Sweden | Hybrid | Full-time We are looking for a Senior App Developer to take ownership of our mobile applications within casino and sports betting. This is a role for someone who is still very much a developer – someone who enjoys coding, solving problems and exploring new technology – but who is also ready to take broader responsibility for how our apps are built, scaled and maintained. We already have several apps in production and are now building the next generation of our mobile platform. The aim is to create a technical foundation that can support several brands and markets, while still allowing each brand to have its own identity and user experience. The role You will be the senior technical person within our app development area, working alongside two developers who have solid development backgrounds but are less experienced specifically in app development. You will report to our Head of Development. Your responsibility will be to set the technical direction and make sure we are building something that works not only for the next release, but for where we want to go longer term. That includes architecture, technical choices, code quality, testing and release processes. It also means being hands-on. We are not looking for someone who wants to move away from development – quite the opposite. Our apps are currently built in Flutter, with native components for iOS and Android and integrations with web and backend systems. Experience with Flutter is a strong plus, but we are open to the right framework going forward – what matters most is solid experience with modern cross-platform mobile development and the judgement to choose the right tool for the job. The work varies over time. Right now, there is a strong focus on developing a new version of the app and creating a platform that can scale to more brands. At other times, the focus may shift towards new features, maintenance, framework updates or improving what is already there. What you will work with You will take ownership of the architecture and technical structure of our cross-platform applications and help establish good practices for how we develop, test and release them. You will make technical decisions around architecture, packages, state management and platform integrations, while working closely with Product, UX, Brand Managers and other developers. Our apps communicate with backend and content systems through APIs, so experience of API integrations, backend communication and real-time data is an important part of the role. You will also need to understand the specific requirements of both iOS and Android, including App Store and Google Play processes. We operate in a regulated industry and different markets come with different requirements. You don't need to be a regulatory expert, but the technical solutions we build need to work within those conditions. On the product side, Product Owners and Brand Managers define what we want a feature to do. You will have considerable freedom and responsibility when it comes to deciding how we solve it technically. Who we think will do well here You have several years of professional app development experience and are comfortable taking responsibility beyond your own code. You have strong experience with cross-platform mobile development – Flutter, React Native or similar – and a good understanding of mobile architecture, state management and testing. You have worked with apps in production and understand what it takes to build for performance, stability and scale. Experience with native development in Swift or Kotlin is useful, but not a requirement. More important is that you understand how a cross-platform framework interacts with the underlying iOS and Android platforms and know when a platform-specific solution may be needed. You are also comfortable working independently. You don't need someone to define every technical step for you, and you are happy to raise questions, suggest a different approach or take the lead when something needs to be solved. But independent doesn't mean working alone. We have few hierarchies and collaboration matters a lot to us. You will have technical responsibility within the app area, but we are looking for someone who enjoys discussing code, sharing knowledge and solving things together with other developers. And ideally, you are someone who genuinely likes being a developer – not just someone who happens to work as one. What about gaming experience? Experience from iGaming is a strong advantage, particularly because it is a fast-moving and highly regulated industry. Experience from fintech, other regulated digital products or high-traffic consumer applications can also be relevant. For the right developer, previous gaming experience is not a requirement. You do, however, need to be interested in the industry and comfortable working with products within regulated online gambling. How we work Development is agile, with daily stand-ups involving developers and UX, as well as regular touchpoints between Product, Casino, Sports and other parts of the business. The wider development organisation is distributed across several locations, including Sweden and Belgrade, where part of our backend organisation is based. The culture is informal and technically curious. There are plenty of people here who genuinely enjoy code and technology, and there is room to challenge existing solutions, suggest something different and try new approaches. AI tools are already part of how we work. We use Claude and we expect you to be comfortable using AI where it makes sense. At the same time, being able to understand, review and take responsibility for the code remains just as important.
