Senior Business Controller – Software & Tech

In this role, you will work closely with senior decision-makers, transforming financial data into insights, challenging assumptions, and contributing to well-informed business decisions. You will work in a technology-intensive organization developing software for modern vehicles, including digital services, infotainment, and advanced driver assistance systems. 🚗 About the Role As a Senior Business Controller, you will have broad responsibilities combining operational controlling, project and program follow-up, and business partnering. You will work closely with senior management and act as a proactive financial partner in both strategic and operational matters. An important part of the role is creating transparency around costs, budgets, and forecasts. You will analyze financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure that relevant decision-making data and insights are available. Your main responsibilities will include: Acting as a financial partner to senior management, providing clear analyses and recommendations. Driving monthly financial follow-up, including variance analyses and performance reviews. Working with OPEX, cost control, and monitoring financial KPIs. Managing budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial planning for various programs and projects. Monitoring project costs, burn rates, and forecast accuracy, and highlighting deviations. Collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, program management, and other functions. Reviewing purchase requests and supplier invoices to ensure compliance with budgets, contracts, and internal guidelines. Driving recurring budgeting and forecasting processes. Preparing financial analyses and presentations for senior management. Proactively identifying financial risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement. 📈 Who Are We Looking For? We are looking for someone with a solid foundation in controlling who thrives in a business-oriented role. You are analytical and structured, but above all, you have the ability to understand the business behind the numbers and translate your analysis into concrete recommendations. You are comfortable working independently, challenging existing assumptions, and communicating financial matters to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Ideally, you have: A university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent. At least 3–5 years of experience in business controlling, financial controlling, business partnering, program controlling, or a similar role. Solid experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling. Strong analytical skills and experience working with large volumes of financial data. Experience working cross-functionally and closely with senior stakeholders. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent spoken and written English. Experience from automotive, technology, engineering, or another development-intensive environment is considered an advantage. Previous experience in project controlling, program controlling, or automotive development programs is also a plus.
