Senior COBOL Developers – Lending For our client, we are looking for two experienced COBOL Developers to join a team working within the Lending area . We are looking for senior developers with a strong mainframe background who combine deep technical expertise with an understanding of data, databases and lending processes. The consultants will work in a collaborative environment and are expected to take ownership, work proactively and contribute to continuous improvement. Location: Stockholm Start: September 18, 2026 / as agreed End: March 31, 2027 Workload: 100% Required Competencies 5+ years of experience in system development Strong hands-on experience with COBOL Strong experience with Mainframe environments Good knowledge of DB2 and SQL Experience analyzing and optimizing DB2 databases Knowledge of IMS Experience with modern development tools such as IBM Developer for z/OS (IDz) and Visual Studio Experience working close to data, databases and file deliveries Technical understanding combined with strong analytical skills Experience within Lending Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex technical tasks Proactive and self-organized way of working Good planning, prioritization and time-management skills Strong team player with a positive attitude towards continuous improvement and learning Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English , both written and spoken Additional Merits It is highly beneficial if the consultant also has experience within one or more of the following areas: Lending systems and lending processes Product and loan systems Full-stack development Agile development AI-assisted software development tools, including Claude Code or similar solutions Using AI to improve development efficiency, processes and productivity Design and architecture Leading complex technical initiatives Business analysis and requirements management Functional and non-functional requirements Testing Interpreting upcoming regulations and market standards Previous experience from local branches, lending support or similar banking environments Personal Profile We are looking for someone who is curious, driven, proactive and analytical .
