Senior Data Solution Architect – Databricks / Data Platform

For our client, we are looking for a Senior Data Solution Architect / Data Architect to join a team responsible for implementing a modern data platform based on Databricks . The platform supports business-critical and regulatory risk data initiatives, with a strong focus on high-quality, scalable and sustainable data solutions. The consultant will take a leading role in the team's data architecture, combining architectural responsibility with hands-on technical involvement . The Assignment You will be responsible for driving data architecture within the team, designing new solutions and contributing to key architectural decisions. A central part of the role is to ensure that development aligns with the target architecture, established standards and best practices. You will work closely with architects, developers and other stakeholders while guiding the team in architectural principles and solution design. The role also includes supporting and mentoring a team member transitioning into a Data Solution Architect role. Key Responsibilities Drive and develop the data architecture within the team Design scalable data solutions for a modern Databricks-based data platform Participate in key architectural and technical decisions Ensure development aligns with target architecture, standards and best practices Design and develop data warehouse and data pipeline solutions Work with data modelling, data loading architecture and data quality Contribute hands-on to development and delivery when needed Collaborate closely with architects, developers and business stakeholders Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership to the team Mentor and support colleagues through knowledge sharing and coaching Contribute to continuous improvement of data quality and architectural practices Essential Skills & Experience Senior experience within Data Architecture / Data Solution Architecture Strong experience with Data Warehousing Strong experience with Data Pipeline Modelling Strong experience with Data Loading Architecture Experience with Data Vault methodology Experience with Dimensional Modelling Experience with Git / GitHub Experience designing and delivering complex enterprise data solutions Ability to combine architecture with hands-on technical work Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Experience providing technical guidance, mentoring and knowledge sharing Strong written and spoken English Meritorious Skills Experience with one or several of the following is highly relevant: Databricks dbt Microsoft Azure Azure Data Factory SQL Python Data Quality Regulatory or Risk Data Banking / Financial Services Candidates who have a strong overall match but do not meet every meritorious requirement are still encouraged to apply.
