Senior Developer with Test automation skills

2x Senior Developer withTest automation skills The Senior Developer will join the Fund Trading Platform team and play a core role in rebuilding the solution for processing external mutual fund orders for customers in Sweden, Norway and Finland. The primary responsibility is to design, develop and maintain high-quality software using Java 21, Spring Boot microservices, Microsoft SQL, REST APIs, Kafka and React. The role combines software development ownership with an expectation to work efficiently as an automation tester. Quality is built into the development lifecycle, and the developer is expected to: - Design, implement and maintain scalable backend services, integrations and frontend functionality - Write clean, maintainable and testable code using sound object-oriented design principles and patterns - Create and maintain automated tests for functional, regression, integration, API and UI scenarios using JUnit, Cucumber and relevant supporting tools - Validate REST APIs, Kafka-based event flows and database integrity as part of feature development - Contribute to reusable test automation frameworks, test data preparation and reliable test execution in CI/CD pipelines - Plan and execute focused manual and exploratory testing when automation is not feasible or cost-effective - Analyze test results, troubleshoot defects and collaborate closely with Product Management, DevOps and other developers to deliver secure, reliable solutions - Continuously improve development, testing and delivery practices by automating repetitive work Must-have knowledge and experience - Strong software development experience with Java 21+ and Spring Boot - Experience designing and developing microservices and distributed backend systems - Solid knowledge of REST APIs, Kafka and event-driven architectures - Strong SQL skills and experience with Microsoft SQL or other relational databases - Experience writing unit, integration and acceptance tests using JUnit and Cucumber - Ability to design maintainable automated tests alongside production code - Experience with API testing tools such as REST Assured or similar - Experience testing asynchronous flows and validating data across services, messages and databases - Working knowledge of UI test automation using Playwright, Selenium or similar - Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, including integrating automated tests into delivery pipelines - Understanding of OpenAPI and AsyncAPI specifications - Ability to design and execute structured manual and exploratory tests when needed - Strong problem-solving skills, quality mindset and good English communication skills Nice-to-have knowledge and experience - Experience with React and frontend development - Experience with Hibernate or similar persistence frameworks - Knowledge of mutual funds, investment funds or finance in general - Experience with cross-border cash payments - Experience improving reusable test automation frameworks across multiple projects - Collaborative mindset and ability to share knowledge across Development, Test, DevOps and Product Management - Adaptability, attention to detail and commitment to continuous learning and automation Start date: ASAP End date: 2027.03.31 Position: Fulltime Location: Stockholm Language: English and Swedish
