About the Role You will step into a broad infrastructure role in a large industrial technology environment where enterprise IT meets factory and automation systems. The landscape spans Windows and Linux platforms, virtualization, networking, storage, backup, cybersecurity and OT, so you need to be comfortable moving between hands-on troubleshooting, technical design and longer-term infrastructure improvements. This role suits you if you enjoy taking ownership in complex environments, working across several technology domains and helping create stable, secure and resilient infrastructure close to critical operations. It is an exciting opportunity to work with both classic enterprise platforms and industrial IT in the same role. Job Description You will administer and maintain Windows Server and Linux environments, including Debian, Ubuntu and RHEL-based distributions. You will manage and troubleshoot virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V, VMware and Proxmox VE. You will design, operate and improve storage solutions across SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel and ZFS-based systems. You will work with Docker-based deployments, PKI certificates and secure remote access solutions. You will manage backup platforms such as Veeam Backup & Replication and Commvault, and help shape disaster recovery, migration and recovery procedures. You will design and troubleshoot enterprise networks, including VLANs, Layer 2/Layer 3 services, fibre infrastructure, wireless networks and firewalls. You will support infrastructure hardening and certificate-based authentication. You will help connect enterprise IT with industrial and factory environments and collaborate with engineering teams around PLC infrastructure, industrial networks, SCADA, remote maintenance and manufacturing systems. You will develop infrastructure automation using PowerShell, Python and Ansible. You will act as a senior escalation point for complex incidents, contribute to infrastructure projects and maintain clear technical documentation, standards and operational procedures. Requirements You have broad hands-on experience with Windows Server and Linux. You have solid experience with virtualization, especially Hyper-V, VMware and/or Proxmox. You are comfortable with enterprise networking, network segmentation and troubleshooting across multiple infrastructure layers. You have experience with SAN/NAS and enterprise storage. You have worked with backup, disaster recovery and recovery planning. You have strong knowledge of cybersecurity and infrastructure hardening. You have practical experience with PowerShell, Python and/or Ansible. You have experience with container technologies such as Docker. You are used to working independently in technically complex environments and communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Nice to have Experience from manufacturing, industrial IT or OT environments. Knowledge of Industrial Control Systems (ICS), PLC infrastructure and SCADA. Experience related to NIS2 and machinery-related regulatory requirements.
