Senior IT Project Manager

Location: Luleå / Mostly Remote Extent: 50% Assignment period: Immediate – 31 August 2029 Employment type: Consultant assignment About the assignment We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager for a long-term consulting assignment. The consultant will be responsible for managing ongoing IT initiatives and leading the replacement of an existing application suite. The role involves working closely with internal IT teams and relevant stakeholders, planning and coordinating activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring that the project is delivered within agreed requirements and timelines. The consultant is expected to work independently, proactively identify improvements, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and contribute to successful project delivery. Main responsibilities Lead and coordinate IT projects and initiatives. Manage the replacement of an existing application or system environment. Plan, follow up and report project progress. Coordinate activities with different IT teams and stakeholders. Conduct investigations of IT systems and IT environments. Prepare decision-making and project documentation. Ensure that the assignment remains within agreed scope and requirements. Apply agile ways of working. Communicate project status, risks and progress to relevant stakeholders. Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Project Management. Minimum 3 years of experience conducting investigations of IT systems and IT environments. Experience preparing decision-making documentation. Strong knowledge of Agile working methods. Very good Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Swedish citizenship. Ability to work independently and proactively. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience with IT system/application replacement projects. Advantageous experience Experience managing projects related to procurement under LOU. Experience in Change Management. Previous experience working with large IT environments or complex system replacement projects. Other information The assignment is mainly remote. At the beginning of the assignment, approximately 1–2 weeks of on-site work in Luleå is expected. Thereafter, approximately 2–3 on-site visits every six months may be required, with each visit lasting around 2–3 days. Travel may occur as part of the assignment. The consultant must be able to undergo the required security classification, which must be completed before the assignment starts.
