Senior Lawyer - Venture Financings

We are looking for someone who is: Experienced in ECVC law. You have a strong background in early-stage financings — SAFEs, convertible notes, and priced equity rounds — and can independently manage complex, fast-moving deal processes. Client-focused and commercially minded. You build strong relationships with founders, venture capital funds, and their counsel, and know how to communicate clearly under pressure. A natural leader and mentor. You have experience supervising paralegals, and can manage team output across multiple simultaneous deals. Detail-driven and execution-focused. You thrive on getting deals done – you prioritize effectively, handle competing deadlines, and do not lose momentum. Tech-savvy. You are comfortable working with AI-backed legal tools and are curious about the role of technology in modern legal delivery. We're especially open to candidates who are extremely tech-savvy and have a genuine interest in how AI can productize the legal ecosystem. Licensed to practice. You are qualified to practice in California or a comparable jurisdiction. 7+ years of relevant experience recommended. Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans.
