Senior Mobile Product Engineer, Intelligent Platforms (all genders)

About the Role: What's in the Box As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you'll own and evolve the mobile app tracking architecture that powers behavioral tracking and experimentation across HelloFresh's brand portfolio. Your core platforms are Android (Kotlin) and React Native. You will also contribute to iOS and Web codebases as the work requires, alongside teammates with deep expertise on those platforms. AI is part of our daily work: you'll use Claude, Zed, and Opencode across design, development, and testing, and help the team adopt new practices as they emerge. What you’ll do: The Recipe At HelloFresh we are moving away from a model where software developers just execute tickets toward one where product engineers are trusted to own customer problems. A Product Engineer takes a problem, forms a point of view, validates it with customers and data, and ships it using AI as a force multiplier. Own the integration and evolution of tracking and experimentation SDKs (Snowplow, Statsig, or equivalent) across Android native and React Native layers, ensuring consistent, reliable event capture for every brand and customer touchpoint. Solve native mobile telemetry challenges, such as lifecycle events, background sync, offline event buffering, and custom native bridges. Embed AI-driven workflows into our platform tooling to increase automation and data quality. Drive engineering excellence by implementing robust automated testing, rigorous error handling, and high-quality release practices. Work closely with product managers, software and data engineers to continuously evolve our platform offering. Mentor engineers and contribute to team-wide engineering standards. Contribute to] the app experience, owning the metrics that reflect quality for mobile customers (retention, crash-free sessions, conversion). What you’ll bring: The Ingredients Hands-on experience working with AI tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) beyond casual experimentation. You use AI agents every day. You have a practical sense of how the context you provide to AI tools shapes output quality, and how to set boundaries on AI-generated work. Extensive mobile engineering experience (5+ years) with strong native depth, ideally on Android (Kotlin). If your depth is on another platform but you have a track record of ramping up quickly in unfamiliar stacks, that works for us. A flexible, cross-platform mindset, with a proven ability to work across mobile and web codebases. GenAI proficiency, including a proven ability to leverage AI tools and workflows to increase development speed, quality, and overall team output. A strong focus on engineering excellence, demonstrated through a commitment to high-quality codebases, proactive system stability, and resilient infrastructure design. Experience building and maintaining automated tests at different levels, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. A track record of taking ownership in ambiguous, cross-functional environments and working across engineering, product, and data teams to ship solutions that measurably move the needle. Deep mobile engineering expertise, with experience across the app release cycle, test automation, on-device performance and platform UX conventions. Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical decisions and trade-offs to different audiences. You take full ownership. You have a bias to ship. You finish the last twenty percent. You have product sense and are opinionated about what should be built and why, and you can back that opinion with data and user evidence. Nice to have Familiarity with how client-side signals flow into downstream systems such as GTM and Snowplow, and with A/B testing and feature-flagging frameworks such as Statsig. Hands-on experience with iOS development (Swift). Experience with Web frontend development (React, TypeScript, browser telemetry). Basic backend or data engineering context (Node.js, Python, REST/gRPC APIs, or data pipelines).
