Senior .NET Developer - Workflow Engine Development
We are now looking for a Senior .NET Developer - Workflow Engine Development & Migration on the behalf of our client, Tetra Pak. Overview/background: We are looking for a Senior .NET Developer to support the continued development of our Workflow Engine (WFE) and the migration of existing .NET services to the new platform. Today, we have several standalone .NET applications, each containing its own business logic and integrations. The long-term goal is to migrate these services to WFE and represent their business logic through workflows and configuration rather than maintaining separate applications. Migration assessment reports have already been prepared for the existing services. These assessments describe the migration approach for each application and identify which WFE components and capabilities are already available and which still need to be developed. The role therefore combines both strong platform development and strong service migration. Main Responsibilities: Migrate existing .NET services to WFE based on the defined migration plans. Translate existing C# business logic into WFE workflows and configuration. Develop tools around the WFE e.g. configuration tools. Configure and validate workflows for migrated services. Ensure migrated workflows preserve the expected behaviour of the existing applications. Troubleshoot technical issues discovered during development and migration. Contribute to architecture and implementation decisions within WFE. Help establish reusable patterns and best practices for future migrations. Develop new WFE components and capabilities identified in the existing migration assessment reports. Extend and improve the WFE .NET codebase to support upcoming migrations. Implement new workflow blocks, integrations, infrastructure capabilities, or platform features where required. Apply Configuration as Code to the application. Technical Profile: We are looking for an experienced .NET developer who is comfortable working both on application-level business logic and on a reusable platform/framework. Relevant experience includes: Strong C# and .NET experience. Backend service and API development. Experience with distributed and integration-heavy systems. Experience with asynchronous processing and messaging. Ability to understand and work with existing business logic. Experience designing reusable components and platform capabilities. Comfortable working with configuration-driven systems. Ability to work independently and make technical decisions in an evolving architecture. Valuable Experience: Experience with some of the following is particularly relevant: REST / HTTP APIs RabbitMQ, MQTT or similar messaging technologies OPC UA Docker and Kubernetes JSON-based configuration and transformation Event-driven architectures Workflow engines or rule engines Observability, logging, and distributed tracing State management and persistence Integration patterns and distributed systems Assignment Context: The expected engagement is approximately one year. The work will initially focus on completing and extending WFE based on the gaps already identified in the migration assessments. As the required platform capabilities become available and WFE reaches the necessary level of stability, the focus will progressively move toward migrating the existing .NET services to the new workflow-based platform. The developer is therefore expected to contribute throughout the full process — from implementing missing WFE capabilities to configuring, migrating, and validating the target workflows. Start: 2026-10-01 End date: 2027-09-30 Workplace: Lund, Sweden Workload: 40h/week BYOD/CAD: BYOD On-boarding info : A drug test needs to be performed before assignment starts. We will present candidates on an ongoing basis for this assignment, so do not hesitate to apply
