Senior Network Operations Consultant

For our client, we are looking for a Senior Network Operations Consultant to join the Infrastructure Services team. The assignment focuses on maintaining the stability, reliability and availability of the enterprise network environment, including Cisco and HPE Aruba infrastructure. You will work in a highly operational environment with responsibility for network administration, monitoring, incident resolution and troubleshooting across a large enterprise network landscape. The role also involves close collaboration with internal IT teams and telecommunications providers to resolve network issues and ensure services remain stable and within agreed SLAs. Key Responsibilities Provide hands-on administration and operational support of enterprise network infrastructure. Configure and manage HPE Aruba network environments, including SD-WAN. Configure and manage Cisco Nexus infrastructure. Administer and troubleshoot Cisco switches, routers and wireless infrastructure. Monitor network services and respond to incidents to maintain service availability and reliability. Troubleshoot network connectivity and infrastructure issues and drive incidents through to resolution within agreed SLAs. Work with telecommunications providers to investigate and resolve WAN and connectivity issues. Support network configuration and management across enterprise environments. Maintain and troubleshoot wireless infrastructure, including controllers and access points. Work with network management and security platforms such as Cisco ISE, Cisco Prime and Cisco DNAC. Follow established ITSM processes using tools such as ServiceNow. Work according to ITIL-based processes covering Incident, Problem, Change and Knowledge Management. Contribute to continuous improvement of network operations, stability and support processes. Document configurations, incidents, solutions and operational procedures. Support a 24x7 infrastructure services environment as required. Monitor network operations and alerts Resolve ServiceNow incidents within SLAs Proactive/predictive failure identification Planned maintenance Required Experience & Skills We are looking for a consultant with strong hands-on experience in enterprise network operations and infrastructure. Must have: Strong experience with Cisco switches and routers. Excellent knowledge of Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and VTP. Strong knowledge of WAN technologies. Hands-on experience with HPE Aruba, preferably including Aruba SD-WAN. Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus. Experience administering and troubleshooting Cisco wireless infrastructure, including controllers and APs. Knowledge of Cisco ISE, Prime and DNAC. Experience working with enterprise ITSM platforms, preferably ServiceNow. Good understanding of ITIL processes, particularly Incident, Problem, Change and Knowledge Management. Experience resolving network incidents within defined SLAs. Good analytical and troubleshooting skills. Experience working with telecommunications providers to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues. 10+ years' experience Nice to have: Knowledge of scripting or automation. Python experience is an advantage. Experience working in large enterprise network environments. Experience in 24x7 network operations or infrastructure support. Profile You are a structured and hands-on network professional who is comfortable working in an operational environment where network availability and stability are critical. You have strong troubleshooting skills, can analyse incidents systematically and are able to work independently to resolve technical issues. You communicate effectively with both technical teams and external providers and are comfortable working according to established ITSM and ITIL processes. You take ownership of incidents and problems through to resolution and contribute to continuous improvements in the network environment.
