Senior Product Designer
What You'll Do As a Senior Product Designer on ArsenalOS Design, you'll work in service of the broader design team. Building up context to swarm wherever ArsenalOS needs design partnership most. Right now that's looks like: Supplier Portal, Non-Conformances, Inspections, and the system for supply chain. Ideal state is connecting information and action to the right person at the right time - bridging technical processes with business workflows. More tactically, you will: Design intuitive interfaces that connect technical systems and business functions, improving process efficiency, evaluation, and reporting Own information architecture, flows, and a lightweight design PRDs before implementation begins. Components shipped without a designer-blessed architecture break; you are the layer against that Judge experience, whether a problem calls for new craft or for reuse. Extending an existing ArsenalOS pattern, borrowing a primitive from elsewhere in the system, in service of one coherent product rather than a patchwork of team-local UIs Rapidly iterate and prototype, with strong visual and interaction craft Own all aspects of design execution from discovery through implementation and support Collaborate directly with cross-functional teams - PMs, engineering, supply chain - to understand their workflows and translate complex processes into intuitive interfaces Partner with Design Leads while exercising appropriate autonomy in your daily work, making decisions quickly to maintain momentum Balance immediate tactical solutions that address urgent business needs while contributing to long-term design impact and value Create scalable components that work across device types, considering the unique environments where our technology operates Engage in contextual research by visiting operational environments to gain firsthand understanding of user needs and processes Communicate design decisions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, bringing them along in your process Collaborate with other designers across multiple verticals to maintain consistency and share best practices, working in the open to ensure cross-functional awareness Who You Are Creative by default. Your work opens a world of possibilities for what we can build. You garner feedback with team members, walk in your users' shoes, and explore external trends to get your inspiration. You thrive in ideation and refine through iteration, and you lean on your instinct and experience to produce work that scales and provides delight. Visual design expert. You have a deep understanding of visual design principles, including composition, color theory, typography, and Gestalt principles. You can create visually stunning and functional designs that enhance user experience and brand identity. Systems thinker who knows when not to design something new. You think beyond the pixels and consider the entire experience holistically. Faced with a new problem, your first instinct is to ask what already exists in the system that solves it. Then to extend or promote that pattern rather than build a one-off. When something genuinely warrants new craft, you can make that call and defend it. You champion the difference between the two to the rest of the team. Storyteller. You are an effective communicator. You can tell a story through the lens of your users, and your mocks resonate because you understand them well. Your story has a beginning, middle, and end, taking your audience on a journey that engages their problems head on, welcomes feedback, all while showing the savvy of the solution. Required Qualifications 6+ years of software design experience You meet the Senior Product Designer on Anduril standards - proficient across Craft & Execution, Impact, Strategy, and Influence/Leadership, operating at product-level and business-line scope High attention to detail and mastery of visual & interaction design craft Comfortable designing by building - runnable prototypes in a real codebase (branches built from our AOS design system) . We have defined a new way of working for design, more on that when you join Figma is still a tool in the designer’s toolkit, but as always with design tools (sketch, adobe, etc.) we hold our craft closest to our hearts, not the tools themselves. Online portfolio demonstrating multimodal experiences Ability to clearly articulate the why, process, and impact of your work Must be able to travel once a quarter to our production lines Strong skills in visual design, interaction design with micro-interactions and animations Proficiency in creating scalable components for various devices and environments Experience developing and implementing design systems Comfort with on-site research and understanding of manufacturing and production environments Preferred Qualifications Bonus, but not required. Familiarity with hardware-related industries, such as supply chain, manufacturing, or logistics Advanced knowledge of visual design principles, including layout, color theory, typography, and Gestalt principles Understanding of design systems and how to actively build, enhance, and promote use of said system Prior exposure to workflow creation tools (a plus would be for quality, supplier-facing, or non-conformance workflows) Background in user research (UXR), or a hybrid UR/UX skill set, is a strength we're actively looking to add to the design team (a plus here, not a requirement) Execution mindset. In this season of the team we must build at speed. If you are a Strategy/UXR person who cannot execute with mocks, this is not the position for you. Anduril is an equal-opportunity employer, and we encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply. If you are someone passionate to work on problems that matter, we'd love to hear from you!
