To accelerate towards our goal of becoming the pioneering force powering the energy system of tomorrow, we are now looking for a systems-minded, technically grounded Senior Product Manager to own our trading platform. 👩‍💻 The opportunity We're hiring a Senior Product Manager to own our Trading Platform. This is a platform role, not a trading one. Our optimizer decides what our assets should do across markets; the trading platform makes it happen – running our market integrations, submitting bids and schedules, dispatching through our own and third-party control systems, handling deviations, and proving what was actually delivered, all the way through settlement. As Flower grows across markets and asset types, the systems, counterparties, and market rules the platform works with keep multiplying. This isn't integration plumbing. It's designing how decisions and information flow through a system with more parties in it every year – and turning that diversity into one scalable product rather than a collection of one-off solutions. The trading platform wins by reach and reliability. The product is getting its first dedicated product manager. You'd be part of our product and market intelligence organization, working cross-functionally with engineering and trading, and an important interface toward our commercial teams and partners. We use a Shape Up-inspired methodology – fixed cycles, cool-down weeks, co-shaped pitches with defined appetite. We chose this because you can't build a world-class trading platform by spreading effort across everything at once. What you'll do Own the product. Direction, roadmap, and objectives for the trading platform – accountable for whether it delivers, not for how many features ship. Shape product bets. Find the highest-leverage problems, frame them clearly, and define what a good solution looks like – then leave room for the team to figure out how. Treat interfaces as the product. Well-designed boundaries are what let the platform take on new markets, systems, and partners quickly and reliably. You own them and hold their quality bar. Sequence expansion deliberately. New markets, integrations, and counterparty types – you decide what we take on, in what order, and what we decline, and make those trade-offs legible across the business. Work the external ecosystem. Drive build-vs-buy decisions, select the vendors we build on, and make things work with systems our partners have already chosen – accountable for the outcome without controlling both sides. Bring commercial context to technical decisions. Integration commitments show up in customer timelines and partner trust. Spend real time with the teams that depend on the platform. What you won't do Manage a team. Groom a backlog. Spend your days in status meetings. We use Linear, Shape Up, and docs over tickets. Who you are We're not looking for a particular background. We're looking for a particular way of thinking. 5+ years in product roles, with at least some of that time at companies where product management is taken seriously as a discipline. A systems thinker in the full sense. Clean interfaces matter, but the craft is deciding how systems should communicate: where a decision belongs in the stack, what information flows where, and what each layer needs to know. You see the general case behind the specific request. When five integrations each need something slightly different, you look for the one design that serves them all – and you know when to ship the simple thing instead. You're motivated by leverage, not spotlight. Platform work pays off in what other teams can suddenly do, often quarters later. You know how to build your own evidence that it's working, and that kind of impact satisfies you. You find reliability genuinely interesting. Failure modes, deviation handling, proving what actually happened – here, these are the product, and you'd rather own them than abstract them away. You can hold a boundary under commercial pressure. You've said no – or "yes, but like this" – to requests with revenue attached, and kept the relationship intact. You can hold your own in technical discussions – reading an interface contract, reasoning about what belongs on each side of a boundary. Your users here are often other systems, so this matters more than in most product roles. Intellectually curious. Energy markets are deep, complex, and full of structural shifts. You'll need to learn this domain, and you're excited by that. You use AI tools to go deeper and move faster – whether that's exploring data, testing ideas, or getting into territory that used to require a specialist. Fluent in English. Clear and precise in writing and speaking. You'll recognize yourself in some of this… You've built platform, API, or integration-heavy products – where your customers included both internal teams and external parties, and the interface was the product. You've worked in energy, payments, market infrastructure, or another domain where correctness is existential and someone audits what you executed.
