We’re looking for a proactive purchasing professional who combines strong commercial judgement with analytical skills and the ability to balance cost, quality, delivery, technology, sustainability, and supplier risk. 📍 Location: Gothenburg, Sweden 🏢 Work model: 100% on-site – no remote work 📅 Assignment period: 20 October 2026 – 30 September 2027 🎯 Seniority: Senior 🎯 About the Role As a Senior Strategic Buyer, you will support global chassis purchasing activities, working closely with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders to secure competitive sourcing, supplier performance, and successful project deliveries. You will play an important role in developing supplier and segment strategies, driving cost improvements, and managing sourcing activities for new projects across various purchasing commodities. 🔧 Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate day-to-day global purchasing activities within chassis purchasing. Drive strategic sourcing and procurement activities across relevant commodities. Develop and implement supplier and segment business plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Lead commercial negotiations to achieve competitive purchasing conditions. Secure supplier quality, delivery performance, and cost competitiveness. Identify and implement cost optimization initiatives and purchasing improvements. Support sourcing activities for new project implementations. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and manage supplier performance. Evaluate purchasing decisions by balancing cost, quality, delivery, features, technology, sustainability, and risk. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align purchasing strategies with business and project objectives. Skills & requirements ✅ Required Skills & Qualifications Proven experience in strategic purchasing and procurement, preferably within the automotive industry. Strong capabilities in commercial negotiations and strategic sourcing. Experience in chassis purchasing or related automotive commodities. Solid understanding of supplier relationship management and supplier performance. Strong analytical skills and experience in cost management and optimization. Experience in project purchasing and sourcing activities for new product or project implementations. Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills. A proactive, structured, and business-oriented approach to problem-solving.
