Senior/Expert IT Developer with Java

We bridge clients and partners & professionals throughout the talent supply chain, for the benefit of individuals, organizations and society. 🔹 For our Client from banking industry we are looking for Senior/Expert IT Developer 🔹 The consultant will work as a Senior/Expert IT Develope r in IMSecurities, developing and modernising backend integration components around the Safekeeping and Corporate Actions platform. The work includes designing, developing, testing, deploying and supporting Java-based microservices and integration components connecting IMSecurities with other banks systems. The application is undergoing intensive development due to significant increase of scope and reach of the application (migration of business flows & volumes over 2027-2029), which in addition to new business logic often requires to rewrite and rearchitect parts of the code base. The department is ramping up, particularly with developers (from 8 to 15 developers; 35+ across dev, analysts, infra, QA, etc), including this requisition. In this environment, we expect versatility and self-reliance from a new consultant and ability to fill in blanks in requirement analysis or in preparing test cases if there is a bottleneck in such a related area. The development team is working in Scrum using JIRA, and we expect to organise 2-3 scrum teams once the ramp up is completed. We expect all developers to take part of knowledge sharing and promoting good development practices; and we particularly expect highly experienced consultants to contribute to growth of employee developers. The consultant is expected to work hands-on with development, while also being able to step up into analysis and deployment orchestration when needed. This includes clarifying requirements, analysing business and system flows, documenting dependencies, supporting deployment planning and troubleshooting production issues. Must have skills: Strong Java backend development experience from large-scale enterprise environments, min. 5 years for Senior, 10 years for Expert. Spring Boot and Spring Integration. SQL and relational databases, preferably Oracle. Messaging and event-driven integration, preferably IBM MQ and Kafka. Experience with REST services, microservices and integration patterns. Maven, Git and CI/CD pipelines. Automated testing with JUnit and Testcontainers. Ability to analyse requirements, system flows, logs, data flows and production issues. Fluent English. Nice to have: Experience from banking, trading, cloud-ready application design. Experience modernising integration custody, settlement, corporate actions or another regulated domain. Experience with containerisation and layers around vendor platforms or legacy systems. Practical experience with test automation, static code analysis and AI-assisted development tools. Experience with writing applications connecting to Kafka, do not need an expert in maintaining the Kafka itself.
