We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead our Operations site in Västervik, Sweden. This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for safety, performance, people, and long-term development of the site. You will report to the Operations Director EMEA & APAC and work closely with other Site Managers across EMEA. ## Your role The Site Manager is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of Axalta’s Västervik Powder Coatings plant. The role leads all aspects of manufacturing strategy, operational performance, site compliance, cost optimisation, people leadership, and customer service excellences. The Site Manager drives process excellence, reduces cost of goods sold (COGS), and ensures consistent product quality and supply reliability. The role collaborates cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, R&D, Finance, HR, and the wider Axalta business, translating regional and global strategy into effective local execution. ### Manufacturing Strategy & Operational Leadership · Develop and execute site manufacturing strategy supporting Axalta’s business requirements. · Drive operational excellence, process discipline, and consistent manufacturing performance. · Implement improvements to reduce COGS, improve productivity, and strengthen supply reliability. · Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly performance reviews are completed, with actions executed to close gaps. · Maintain safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all plant facilities, processes, and equipment. · Acts as Chairman of the Board of Axalta Powder Coating Systems Nordic AB representing Axalta and managing relationships with external bodies such as: customers, unions, media, attorneys, governmental and regulatory officials, community and local business leaders, customers, employer association/association of chemical industry and universities. ### Cross-Functional Collaboration · Work closely with internal and external manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, R&D, and business teams. · Ensure seamless product flow from supplier to customer. · Collaborate with Finance and HR to support budgeting, capability development, and organisational planning. · Represent site performance to regional and global leadership clearly and data-driven. ### Financial Management & Cost Control · Manage site operating budgets with full cost accountability. · Deliver continuous productivity improvement and quality control to optimize financial results. · Apply strong financial and analytical modelling to evaluate performance and profitability. · Prioritize investments that improve safety, compliance, cost efficiency, and operational capability. ### Authority and Financial Control · Financial authority in accordance with Axalta’s Delegation of Authority (DoA). · Authority to deploy resources, manpower, and operational priorities. · Authority to approve capital and maintenance activities supporting site strategy. · Authority to adjust production plans to meet customer and business requirements. Production, Quality & Technical Execution · Provide full leadership over production, warehousing, engineering, and maintenance activities. · Ensure consistent product quality aligned with Axalta standards and customer expectations. · Apply industry best practices and continuous improvement tools to enhance output and reliability. · Lead site capital investment projects and deliver expected outcomes. ### Safety, Quality & Compliance · Ensure all activities comply with Axalta EHS standards, local legislation, and regulatory obligations. · Promote a best-in-class safety culture and lead by example. · Ensure appropriate handling and storage of powders, liquids, chemicals, and raw materials. · Maintain and update EHS, quality, and compliance documentation. · Lead corrective and preventative actions, audits, and continuous improvement activities. ### Continuous Improvement · Promote continuous improvement mindset · Apply lean manufacturing, kaizen methodology, and Axalta production systems. · Use data and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities. · Drive improvement initiatives with urgency and strong follow-through. ### Leadership & People Management · Lead, develop, and motivate multi-disciplinary teams across manufacturing and support functions. · Build capability and succession strength within the site leadership team. · Set clear objectives aligned with safety, quality, output, cost, an
