Vertiseit powers digital in-store and restaurant experiences for global enterprise brands through its business brands Grassfish, Visual Art and Scala. We are hiring a Software Developer for the team that builds Vertiseit's shared media player, the client software running on every deployed screen across the group. The recruitment is handled by Lynqa. You will be employed directly by Vertiseit. The product The media player is a standalone application that plays media, runs local HTML5 experiences and exposes APIs to hardware integrations. About 90% shared logic in TypeScript and JavaScript: playback, scheduling, state and rendering. About 10% platform adapters: direct integration with the manufacturer APIs on Samsung Tizen and LG webOS, and a lightweight host app written in Go on Windows, Linux and Android. IXM Player is already running in production across multiple operating systems and hardware platforms, with support continuously expanding. Stack: TypeScript (web app and Node.js server), JavaScript, Svelte, Vite, Vitest and Playwright (automated E2E tests against physical displays). The host app is written in Go. What you will do The coming year is mostly new development to widen platform support, with Android as the main focus. Develop and maintain the core player runtime in TypeScript Port the player to new operating systems and display hardware Keep playback stable 24/7, also with frequent content changes Debug edge cases across the browser runtime, operating system, network and physical display Validate manufacturer firmware updates and keep older Chromium runtimes and hardware working Take your turn on weekly developer support during office hours, resolving incoming issues so the rest of the team can focus. No on-call. Who we are looking for You do not need a background in digital signage. What matters is solid TypeScript and an understanding of how code behaves on real, constrained devices. Customers run the player for many years, sometimes on older displays and Chromium versions. The product spans playback, rendering, a Node.js server, networking and communication with hardware, so the team needs broad generalists who like to learn. It is not a low-level embedded or firmware role, and it is not pure web development. It sits in between: application development that has to work on many devices and operating systems. Requirements Solid professional experience with TypeScript and JavaScript, ideally several years Experience with Node.js and at least one frontend framework Experience working in an established, long-lived product and codebase Experience with Smart TV apps or video and media players Understanding of browser engines (Chromium/WebKit), runtime constraints, and resource optimization across platforms Professional English (Swedish is a bonus) Nice to have Media playback, streaming, codecs or hardware-accelerated rendering Multi-platform desktop or mobile apps, for example Android apps across many devices Android, Linux (especially NixOS), ARM or x86 Svelte or Go Firmware updates, compatibility testing and long backward compatibility Networking, certificates and Windows services Hardware protocols such as RS232 or HDMI-CEC Profiling, observability and memory leak diagnosis The team You will join IXM Grid, a cross-functional team of 13 led by the Head of IXM Grid: two Product Owners, a QA Engineer, six backend developers and three media player developers, including the Lead Media Player Developer. Eight sit in Stockholm, three in Varberg and two in Vienna. The working language is English. The team works closely together, but you are also expected to take your own problems from investigation to solution. People who do well here are curious, careful and take ownership. Terms Permanent, full-time Stockholm or Varberg Office-first, with hybrid flexibility agreed with your manager Collective agreement with occupational pension and insurance Equity options program Wellness allowance 25 days of annual leave and flexible hours On-site gym at the Stockholm office Process Introductory call with Armin at Lynqa Remote interview with the Head of IXM Grid and Chief HR Officer Technical discussion with the Lead Media Player Developer and the Product Owner about architecture, trade-offs and systems you have built. No take-home tests or live coding. Visit the office and meet the team Contact Armin Tankovic, Lynqa · armin@lynqa.se
