Solution Architect – Financial Services

Role Description Support complex transformation and technology projects for banks, insurance companies, and other financial service providers, collaborating with clients to develop future-proof solution architectures. Provide holistic advice on solution, application, data, integration, and cloud architectures, translating business requirements into robust technical solutions. Develop technical architectures, solution concepts, and transformation roadmaps, guiding their execution from initial design through to implementation. Assess existing system landscapes and identify opportunities for optimization and modernization regarding architecture, integration, scalability, security, and maintainability. Provide support for technology-related decisions, such as those concerning cloud platforms, integration architectures, APIs, microservices, data architectures, and suitable technology stacks. Act as a liaison between business, IT, development, and other stakeholders, ensuring that business and technical requirements are integrated into a consistent overall architecture. Build professional, trusting relationships with key client stakeholders and advocate for architectural decisions with both technical and business counterparts. Depending on your experience, you take responsibility for architecture workstreams, sub-projects, and technical teams, overseeing the implementation of defined solutions. Beyond project work, you contribute to internal initiatives, help advance our technology and architecture capabilities, and share your expertise within Capco. Skills and Expertise University degree e.g. in Business Informatics, Computer Science, or Engineering, along with several years of relevant professional experience. Extensive experience in designing and implementing solution architectures within the banking, insurance, or financial services sectors. Broad understanding of technology and ability to translate complex business requirements into technical architectures and actionable solution concepts. Experience with both modern and traditional system landscapes and familiarity with relevant architectural principles and patterns, e.g. in the areas of cloud, APIs, microservices, integration, and data. Experience with at least one relevant cloud platform and a solid understanding of cloud-native architecture, security, governance, and scalability. Knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST API, Cloud and Microservices, and development practices, which enables you to evaluate architectural decisions at a technical level. Ability to evaluate various solution options in terms of business value, technical feasibility, costs, risks, and strategic target architecture, and derive appropriate recommendations. Ideally, you bring experience in coordinating technical teams and workstreams, as well as managing diverse business and technical stakeholders. Strong analytical and conceptual skills, excellent communication abilities, and a high level of initiative. Fluency in English (and German language is an advantage).
