SPEOS Simulation Engineer
Assignment Description We are seeking a skilled SPEOS Simulation Engineer with a structured, curious and solution-oriented approach to support automotive exterior lighting development. You will build and maintain Ansys SPEOS models, evaluate optical performance and appearance, and use simulation findings to recommend design improvements. The work includes material, tolerance and sensitivity analyses, correlation with physical measurements and tests, and clear technical reporting. Working independently and across disciplines, you will take ownership of technical deliveries and contribute to requirements, design reviews, verification, problem-solving and reusable simulation practices, with a focus on quality, continuous improvement and deadlines. Required Qualifications: Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret simulation and test data and translate the findings into actionable design improvements. Strong communication and documentation skills, combined with professional proficiency in English. Hands-on experience with Ansys SPEOS, along with experience working with CAD geometry and model preparation. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in optical engineering, physics, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or a related field, together with a good understanding of geometrical optics, photometry, light sources, optical materials and surface properties. It is considered an advantage if you have experience in automotive exterior or interior lighting development, simulations involving headlamps, rear lamps, stray light or visual appearance, optical measurement equipment, and correlation between simulation and test results. Experience with relevant lighting regulations and standards, such as UNECE, FMVSS or other regional requirements, as well as working with suppliers and international cross-functional teams, is also considered an advantage.
