Staff Backend Engineer

What You Will Do Lead architecture design for scalable, extensible, and reliable systems Align technology roadmaps with leadership and stakeholders Build productivity tools using Claude and Windsurf Remove technical blockers and simplify complex problems into actionable solutions Write code when needed to guide teams and support high-priority initiatives Identify business and tech opportunities; evaluate and adopt new technologies Recruit, mentor, and grow top-tier engineering talent Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent 10+ years building and operating backend services and web applications Deep expertise in distributed systems, storage, data processing, and server technologies Strong coding skills in Java and Spring Framework; object-oriented design Experience with AWS-based service development and operations Experience with NoSQL and relational/columnar databases Preferred Qualifications Git, CI/CD automation, and Agile methodologies Experience driving improvements in code quality Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus) Passion and inclination towards Reliability and observability Type of work model Hybrid Details to consider Those eligible for employment protection (recipients of veteran’s benefits, the disabled, etc.) may receive preferential treatment for employment in accordance with applicable laws.
