Staff Site Reliability Engineer
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer, Security Engineering to lead the design and development of internal platforms, tools, and automation that help protect sensitive data across the organization. This role is ideal for a software engineer who enjoys building scalable backend systems, working with large-scale data platforms, and partnering with security, privacy, compliance, and engineering teams. You will help improve how the company discovers, reviews, governs, and reduces sensitive data exposure through well-designed software systems and automation. What You Will Do Design and build internal platforms and tools to support sensitive data discovery, review workflows, access governance, risk tracking, and remediation. Develop backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and automation workflows that help teams identify, analyze, and reduce sensitive data exposure. Integrate with large-scale data systems such as object storage, databases, data warehouses, streaming platforms, metadata systems, and production services. Work closely with security, data platform, and product engineering teams to translate business and risk requirements into practical engineering solutions. Partner with data owners and platform teams to improve how sensitive data is stored, accessed, transformed, shared, and monitored. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. 8+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering experience supporting large-scale production environments. Strong technical leadership experience driving complex, cross-functional infrastructure or platform initiatives. Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native platforms. Strong understanding of system architecture, networking, operating systems, observability, and performance engineering. Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, including compute, storage, networking, containerization, and identity services. Experience developing automation for deployment, monitoring, incident response, and platform operations. Software engineering experience, especially in backend, platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems development. Strong programming and scripting skills, such as Python, Bash, Java,Go,C++, or similar languages. Good understanding of cloud infrastructure, especially AWS services, IAM concepts, permissions, logging, and access patterns. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating mission-critical services with demanding availability, latency, and scalability requirements. Deep expertise in Kubernetes, containers, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and modern observability platforms. Experience defining and managing Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and reliability engineering practices. Track record of improving system reliability, reducing operational burden, and increasing engineering velocity through automation. Experience driving technical strategy and influencing architecture decisions across multiple teams and organizations. Employees are required to work at least 2 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 3 days a week, depending on the role requirement.
