Staff Software Engineer, Banking

Requirements: 8+ years of software engineering experience, including experience operating as a senior technical leader on complex, multi-team initiatives Demonstrated track record of leading architecture and delivery for large-scale distributed systems in a product or platform engineering environment Strong systems thinking and the ability to simplify complex technical and organizational problems into clear, actionable plans Experience improving reliability, operational excellence, and engineering quality in production systems with meaningful customer or business impact Ability to work effectively across engineering, product, design, operations, compliance, risk, and other cross-functional partners Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and align teams without direct authority Hands-on technical depth and sound engineering judgment, including the ability to dive into implementation details when needed Experience mentoring senior engineers and helping scale technical leadership across an organization Bonus Points: Experience in fintech, banking, payments, ledgering, or money movement systems Experience building systems in highly regulated environments Experience leading large migrations, platform consolidations, or service modernization efforts Experience working with external financial or infrastructure partners and integrating third-party systems into critical product flows Experience defining technical strategy for org-level investments that span product, platform, and operational workflows Compensation: The expected salary range for this role i $240,000 - $285,000. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity.
