Summer 2027 LEAD Information Technology Intern
Requirements: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program at an accredited university or credentialed software accelerator program Degree focused in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, IT Security, Informatics, Information Science/Technology, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Security and Risk Analysis, or other relevant STEM majors with Software/IT experience Minimum cumulative or in-major 3.0/4.0 GPA Must commit to working full time (40 hrs/wk) during the internship Must be a rising junior or senior with expected graduation between December 2027 – June 2029 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Prior internship, co-op, or research experience in IT, software, or related area Strong analytical skills Commitment to a career in technology with a passion and aptitude for both software and information technology Up-to-date with current industry standards, trending software, and information technology development tools Solves technical challenges through regular application of common design patterns and identifies appropriate patterns for use in problem solving Ability to learn quickly and successfully navigate in a fast-paced environment Proactively learns new tools and identifies opportunities for improvement and promotes their adoption Contributes to creative solutions and challenges the status quo Strong customer focus, ability to understand the value proposition for the customer, and commitment to deliver the best value proposition Able to engage positively across multiple departments to establish clarity, vision, and mutual trust to achieve business goals Demonstrated program / project management skills working on and leading teams Leadership experience inside and/or outside the classroom Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms Locations: Core Locations: Pittsburgh, PA; Chicago, IL Relocation assistance/reimbursement may be provided for those who qualify Physical Demands : Employee is regularly required to write, talk and hear Employee is required to work with a computer and keyboard, speakers, webcam Requires daily online interaction with Wabtec IT Employees Work Environment : The work environment is mainly digital, either from a temperature-controlled office environment, home office, or combination of the two Our hourly rates for summer internships range from $28 to $30/hr. The actual hourly rate is based on a matrix determined by your year in school/graduation year and your major.

The salary rate for this role is currently $28-30 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
