Our mission is simple: guide painting contractors to financial prosperity.</p> <p>We’re looking for a seasoned Tax Preparer who loves tax preparation, pays close attention to the details, embraces technology, and wants the stability of a year-round position with a collaborative CPA firm.</p> <p>You’ll work closely with our Tax Manager and tax reviewers to prepare individual and business tax returns, communicate with clients, resolve routine tax questions, and keep returns moving efficiently through our paperless tax workflow.</p> <h2>What You’ll Do</h2> <ul> <li> <p>Prepare accurate and timely federal and state individual and business tax returns, including:</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Individual returns (Form 1040), including Schedules C, E, and D/Form 8949</p> </li> <li> <p>Rental property and investment reporting</p> </li> <li> <p>Partnership returns (Form 1065)</p> </li> <li> <p>S Corporation returns (Form 1120S)</p> </li> <li> <p>C Corporation returns (Form 1120)</p> </li> <li> <p>Straightforward multi-state individual and business returns</p> </li> <li> <p>K-1 reporting from partnerships, S corporations, and trusts</p> </li> <li> <p>Common individual tax credits and deductions</p> </li> <li> <p>Basic Section 199A/QBI calculations</p> </li> <li> <p>Depreciation, Section 179, and bonus depreciation</p> </li> <li> <p>Basic Schedule M-1 and M-2 reconciliations</p> </li> </ul> <ul> <li> <p>Review your own work for completeness, accuracy, and internal consistency before submitting returns for reviewer sign-off.</p> </li> <li> <p>Identify potential issues involving shareholder or partner basis, multi-state taxation, or other areas requiring reviewer or Tax Manager involvement.</p> </li> <li> <p>Research routine tax questions independently using firm resources, recognize when an issue should be escalated, and collaborate with the reviewer or Tax Manager on more complex or unusual tax matters.</p> </li> <li> <p>Communicate directly with clients regarding tax questions, missing information, and outstanding documents.</p> </li> <li> <p>Document client communication and maintain accurate workflow status updates within TaxDome.</p> </li> <li> <p>Collaborate with tax reviewers and the Tax Manager to resolve questions and complete returns efficiently.</p> </li> <li> <p>Stay current on federal and state tax law changes and participate in regular tax department meetings and training.</p> </li> <li> <p>Look for opportunities to improve the efficiency and quality of our tax preparation process.</p> </li> </ul> <h2>Why You’ll Love Working Here</h2> <p>Fully Remote: Work from anywhere in the world.</p> <p>Year-Round: This is not just a seasonal tax position.
