Test Developer - Powertrain Solutions

We are looking for a Test Developer to join a Motion Control Testing team working with automotive powertrain solutions. You will test new software functionality by analysing requirements, developing test cases and scripts, and performing low-level software testing in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and bench environments. Working closely with function developers, you will help verify that software behaves as intended and meets defined requirements. This assignment suits an engineer who enjoys practical testing, structured analysis and close collaboration with developers in a vehicle development environment. Your responsibilities Analyse functional requirements and translate them into test cases and test scripts. Perform low-level software testing in HIL and bench environments. Review test outcomes with function developers to support software quality. Plan and coordinate your testing activities within agile sprints. Contribute to the team’s delivery using the SAFe framework. Required qualifications A master’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or another relevant field. Relevant experience in software testing and/or test development. Ability to translate requirements into executable test cases and scripts. Knowledge relevant to HIL and bench-based software testing. Ability to organise your testing activities and collaborate with developers and other technical stakeholders. Fluent English. Availability to work on-site in Södertälje throughout the assignment. Meriting experience Automotive embedded systems and Scania’s electrical systems. Functional safety and ISO 26262. Programming, particularly Python for test automation or test frameworks.
