Trade Plate Driver
Are you looking for a flexible way to earn without committing to a traditional employed role? This self-employed Trade Plate Driver opportunity offers full or part time work with the flexibility to choose 3 consecutive days each week. You will work independently, drive a variety of vehicles and manage your journeys with the support of an experienced logistics team. You will need access to a driveway or suitable off-road parking space, as you may take a vehicle home in the evening to deliver to the customer the following day. Most drivers travel between vehicle collections and deliveries using trains and buses, with reasonable public transport expenses reimbursed. Others get more creative, using folding bikes or even running parts of their journey to keep fit, reduce waiting time and save money on transport. Many of our most successful drivers are retired or semi-retired professionals who want to remain active, enjoy being out on the road and supplement their income following a long career. What does Trade Plate driving involve? As one of our Trade Plate Drivers, you will be provided with vehicle movements for the collection and delivery of new and used vehicles from a range of locations throughout the country, including dealerships, auction sites, compounds, hire companies, businesses and private retail customers. You will be responsible for all aspects of vehicle logistics, including: Planning your jobs and journeys Completing detailed and accurate vehicle appraisals Collecting and delivering vehicles promptly Conducting professional customer handovers Completing sign-off documentation and supporting paperwork where required Drivers typically complete two vehicle movements per day, equating to approximately ten movements per week. An average working day is approximately 10 to 12 hours between Monday and Friday. Early starts and unpredictable finishing times are a normal part of the role. Customer service is a key part of this position, so being well-presented, polite, disciplined, organised, motivated and experienced in delivering high levels of customer service is crucial to the business. You will also need to be calm, patient, resilient and resourceful. Vehicle movements do not always go according to plan, so you must be comfortable adapting to changing circumstances and working independently. Who Could This Role Suit? The opportunity may also suit people with previous experience as a Car Rental Driver, Vehicle Service Agent, Fleet Driver, Auction Driver, Chauffeur, Professional Driver, Taxi Driver, Private Hire Driver, Courier Driver, Multi-Drop Driver, Vehicle Appraiser or Vehicle Inspector. About Intertechnic Logistics Established within the industry for over 13 years, Intertechnic Logistics is a highly regarded and consistently expanding vehicle movements company. How Earnings Are Calculated The £450–£600 weekly earning potential is based on the mileage completed. Drivers are paid: £20 for the first 50 miles 24p per mile thereafter 25p per mile after three months’ service 26p per mile after six months’ service 27p per mile after 12 months’ service Actual weekly earnings will depend on the number and mileage of vehicle movements completed. To assist with your daily vehicle movements, we provide: Full insurance cover, trade plates, fuel card, tablet for completing vehicle appraisals and logging movements, professional and experienced allocators, minibus and hire-car support It is a requirement of our Insurance Company that all drivers hold a current Full UK Driving Licence for ten years or longer, with six or fewer active penalty points that do not include the codes TT99, DR, DD, CD or IN during the past five years.
