Extreme Networks is seeking a dynamic US Public SectorServices Account Executive to lead the charge in growing our service business with our SLED clients.
In this high-impact role, you'll own the full services number and have a strategic focus on expanding and optimizing Extreme Service across the SLED region. This is a remote position offering flexibility while delivering measurable results. You'll report directly to the Director of Service Sales and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
The US Public Sector Services Account Executive must be comfortable working with complex data, pricing structures, and government contracting requirements, and must be able to translate Extreme's Services offerings into clear, business-friendly value propositions for Public Sector buyers. This role requires a high degree of independent judgment balanced with adherence to standard sales processes to ensure consistency and compliance.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of carrying and exceeding a services or subscription revenue quota, ideally within Public Sector or a similarly regulated vertical. They must be self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable managing a large geographic territory independently while staying closely aligned with cross-functional teams.
Own and drive Services sales strategy and execution across 2-3 named U.S. Public Sector territories
Build and manage a pipeline of new attach, renewal, and expansion Services opportunities across Federal, State, Local, and Education accounts
Leverage data on attach rates, renewal rates, and penetration to identify whitespace and prioritize account coverage
Partner closely with Account Executives, Systems Engineers, and Channel Partners to position Extreme's Services portfolio as part of every opportunity
Develop a deep understanding of Public Sector funding cycles — including E-Rate, biennium budgets, and Federal fiscal-year timing — and align sales motions accordingly
Increase adoption of Premier Support, Managed Services, and subscription offerings within the territory
Prepare and deliver executive-ready proposals, renewal quotes, and business reviews for customers and internal stakeholders
Navigate government procurement processes, including GSA schedules, firm-fixed-price contracts, and RFP/RFQ requirements
Collaborate with Services Sales leadership, Deal Desk, and Finance to structure and close complex, multi-year Services agreements
Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline hygiene in Salesforce to support Americas-wide reporting and planning
Represent Extreme's Services value proposition at customer meetings, industry events, and partner engagements within the assigned territory
Required Qualifications
US Citizen
Experience in State, Local, K-12 and Higher Education a must
5-8 years of enterprise software and services sales experience
Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and managing a sales forecast
Strong consultative selling skills with ability to identify customer needs and recommend solutions
Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable presenting to executive-level buyers
Experience managing complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships in an account-based selling model
Self-motivated, results-driven professional with strong organizational skills
Proficiency with CRM systems and sales tools
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience selling IT services, cloud services, or managed services
Background in networking, cybersecurity, or enterprise infrastructure solutions
Knowledge of Extreme Networks products or competitive landscape
Experience working with channel partners and indirect sales models
Track record of successful service expansion and renewal management

BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
Significant demonstrable Services and subscription sales experience, specifically within U.S. Public Sector (State, Local, and Education)
Working knowledge of government funding and procurement cycles, including E-Rate, biennium budgeting, GSA schedules, and firm-fixed-price contracting
Track record of engaging and influencing senior/executive-level stakeholders
Proven ability to grow and protect recurring services revenue
Ability to explain complex services processes and pricing in clear business terms
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Effective time management and prioritization across multiple named territories
Commercial awareness with a solid understanding of services finance and deal structuring
Ability to build and sustain strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams
Experience with networking, IT infrastructure, or managed services solutions is a strong plus
IT literate, including proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office
High-energy, competitive nature with a strong sense of personal accountability for results
Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% within the assigned territory
