About the role: Join our Media Lab team at Lorex Labs, where you will contribute to real-life, state-of-the-art technology to improve video quality in real time communications. We are looking for a talented and driven individual to work on video signal processing and HW/SW technologies. The role focuses on evaluating, testing, and improving video quality for real time communication in videoconferencing applications, including the evaluation of machine learning models. The work involves algorithm validation and testing, video quality evaluation, bug investigation, and contributing to the development of innovative products. Conduct performance analysis and optimization of video algorithms and processing pipelines for real time communication optimization. Perform video quality evaluations and subjective analysis across various applications, use cases and devices. Measure and analyze video characteristics, performance and quality on different operating systems and devices. Develop and maintain evaluation pipelines and dashboards for video testing. Document and communicate test results and debugging processes in reports. Provide technical support for video systems using different lab set-ups and video tools. Contribute to the development of innovative products. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Image Analysis, Machine Learning, or a related field. Background in video signal processing. Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies. Proficiency in coding with C++ and/or Python. Familiar with video systems and technologies. Ability to set up and conduct lab experiments and evaluations. Strong technical skills and a willingness to learn new technologies. Excellent teamwork, communication and collaboration abilities. Great problem-solving and analytical skills. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of embedded systems and OS. Experience with various video devices used in communication systems.
