Senior Designer- BIM, Mechanical - Data Center
Key Responsibilities  Mechanical SLD, Space Planning & Equipment Layout (CORE ROLE) HVAC Plant & External Utility Layout  Develop layouts for:  Chillers, cooling towers, pumps  Heat exchangers, CDUs , Fan Wall Units/PAHU/CRAH,  External plant areas and terraces  Pipe network  Plan: Equipment spacing, maintenance access, lifting zones, raised platforms.  Ensure: Logical integration with piping and electrical systems  Data Hall & Cooling Layout Layout design for:  CRAH / CRAC / AHU systems  Fan wall units, containment systems  Read door Heat Exchangers, CDUs  Coordinate: Hot aisle / cold aisle configurations Mechanical Rooms & Support Areas  Develop layouts for:  Pump rooms, AHU rooms, ventilation areas  Plan routing corridors and maintenance access  HVAC Piping & Duct Routing Design  Chilled Water & Piping Systems  Design routing for:  CHW supply/return piping  Condenser water systems Plan: Trenches, shafts, overhead routing Ensure: Efficient routing and minimal clashes Airside Systems (Ducting) Layout: Supply, return, and exhaust ducting Coordinate: Routing corridors and clearances Fire Protection & Suppression System Layout (CRITICAL)  HSD Yard & Diesel Distribution System Design  HSD Yard Planning Diesel Distribution System Safety & Compliance Mechanical Schematics & System Understanding Interpret and develop: HVAC schematics P&IDs Fuel system schematics   • Ensure: Alignment between schematics and layouts  BOQ & Technical Documentation Prepare: BOQs for HVAC, piping, fire, and fuel systems Equipment schedules Develop: Technical specifications for:  HVAC equipment  Piping systems  Fire suppression systems  Fuel systems Coordination & Clash-Free Design Coordinate with: Electrical (cable routing, DG interfaces)  Architecture (space, zoning)  Structural (openings, trenches) Participate in: Clash detection reviews Ensure: Fully coordinated, constructible layouts Drawing Production & Quality Prepare: Equipment layouts Piping, ducting, and fuel routing drawings Sections and details Maintain: High-quality AutoCAD standards Constructability & Site Support Ensure: Installation feasibility  Maintenance accessibility  Support: Site teams and shop drawing reviews   Domain Knowledge Experience in: Data Centers / Industrial / Infrastructure projects Understanding of: Redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N) Safety and operational requirements Coordination Skills Strong multidisciplinary coordination capability Communication Good communication skills Qualifications  
5–15 years (Data Center / Mission-Critical preferred)  Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering Good to Have-Data Center project experience Knowledge of: Revit / BIM coordination CFD tools Familiarity with: ASHRAE, NFPA, ISHRAE Software Skills  AutoCAD (mandatory) Basic knowledge of Revit MEP (preferred)  Familiarity with: HAP / Trace or similar tools (preferred) Communication & Attitude Good communication skills (verbal & written) Willingness to learn and take technical guidance Ability to work in a team environment and meet deadlines
